Timents Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Timents collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use the Timents website, iOS application, and related services (the "Service"). Questions, requests, or privacy notices can be sent to privacy@timents.com.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to the public website at timents.com, the Timents iOS application, invite and waitlist flows, and account, profile, story, moment, and notification features that are operated under the Timents domain and Firebase project.

2. Information we collect

Timents may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account and identity data. Email address, sign-in method, authentication provider, date of birth, consent timestamps, invite and referral metadata, and account status.
  • Profile data. Username, normalized username, full name, bio, avatar, profile photo URL, account visibility setting, and related profile timestamps.
  • User content. Moments, captions, photos, stories, comments, likes, follow requests, follows, follower and following counts, story memberships, and related sharing settings.
  • Notification and device data. Push notification token, device registration details, app version, build number, locale, time zone, and last-seen timestamps used for delivery and account security.
  • Invite and growth data. Invite codes, invite usage counts, redemption records, and waitlist activation state.
  • Safety and control data. Blocks, mutes, account status flags, and operational records necessary to secure the Service.

3. Photo library and camera access

Timents may request access to your camera and photo library when you choose to create or attach media. In the iOS app, photo-library access is used to surface same-day suggestions and let you choose media to post. Personal photos are not uploaded merely because access is granted. Upload occurs only when you intentionally publish or save media into the Service.

4. How we use information

  • To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
  • To operate profile, timeline, moment, story, invite, waitlist, and social features.
  • To deliver follow, like, comment, and other account notifications.
  • To power visibility controls, relationship controls, and safety features such as blocks and mutes.
  • To store and serve photos, avatars, and other content you choose to upload.
  • To provide product functionality, troubleshoot issues, secure the Service, and prevent abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including age-gating and consent requirements.

5. Legal bases

Depending on where you live, Timents may process personal information based on your consent, the need to perform a contract with you, legitimate interests such as service security and abuse prevention, and legal obligations.

6. How sharing works inside Timents

Timents is designed around selectable visibility. In the current product model, new accounts default to private visibility. Content you share may become visible to other users depending on your chosen audience, the sharing mode of a moment, and whether a story is collaborative or public. Public content may be viewable more broadly inside the Service. Private or follower-scoped content is limited according to the controls available in the app, but no system can guarantee absolute secrecy once content is shared with other people.

7. Service providers and disclosures

Timents uses third-party infrastructure providers to run the Service, including Google Firebase services for authentication, database storage, cloud storage, remote configuration, and push messaging. We may also disclose information:

  • To vendors and contractors working on our behalf under appropriate protections.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests.
  • To protect users, the Service, and Timents against fraud, abuse, or security threats.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

Timents does not sell personal information and does not currently operate third-party advertising inside the app.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, protect users, enforce our agreements, and operate backups and security logs. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of data. If your account or content is removed, copies may remain in backups or system logs for a limited period where required for integrity, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

9. Your rights and choices

  • You can update profile information such as name, username, bio, date of birth, and avatar through the app where available.
  • You can control account visibility, notification permissions, and relationship controls such as following, blocking, and muting.
  • You can request password reset if you signed up with email/password.
  • You can log out from the app at any time.
  • You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information by emailing privacy@timents.com.

In-app self-service account deletion may not be available in every version of the product. Until that flow is live, deletion requests should be sent by email.

10. Children’s privacy

Timents is not intended for children under 13. The current product requires date of birth and age-gates access. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Timents, contact us at privacy@timents.com.

11. Security

Timents uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should also protect your account credentials and use strong device-level security.

12. International processing

Timents and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different data protection rules.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we may revise the effective date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.

14. Contact

Privacy questions, deletion requests, access requests, or legal notices may be sent to privacy@timents.com or legal@timents.com.
